The Casino RSM Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Bianca Rayner as the new Youth Hub Coordinator, effective Monday 2 June.
Ms Rayner’s appointment follows the establishment of a Youth Hub steering committee, comprising Casino RSM Board directors Trudy Lamont, Troy Freeburn and Sharon Davidson, as well as community members Margaret Hayes and Scott Lambeth, and youth representatives Ruby Beckenham and Xavier Opryszko.
Casino RSM Board President Trudy Lamont said these strategic appointments marked a significant step in strengthening the Club’s commitment to supporting young people and creating inclusive, empowering spaces for youth development and community engagement.
Ms Lamont said the new Youth Hub would offer young people a safe, inclusive and dynamic space to connect, learn and thrive.
She said although the Youth Hub building was still undergoing renovations, the space would provide access to a range of free programs, workshops and support services, including mental health resources, career guidance, creative arts, leadership development and recreational activities.
“We are incredibly proud to launch a space which reflects the needs, passions and potential of our young people,” Ms Lamont said.
“The Youth Hub will be more than just a place – it will be a community built on respect, inclusion and opportunity.”
The Youth Hub will also serve as a central point for youth advocacy, giving young people a stronger voice in decisions which affect their lives. Input from local youth has been instrumental in shaping the space and its offerings.
Casino RSM Club CEO John Walker said Ms Rayner would lead the planning, coordination and delivery of programs and initiatives at the Youth Hub.
Mr Walker said the Richmond Valley’s youth deserved a place where they felt seen, heard and supported.
He said the Club’s Board and management team were excited to see the positive impact the Youth Hub would have on the community.
“We are thrilled to welcome Bianca to the team,” Mr Walker said.
“Her passion for youth empowerment and strong background in community engagement will be instrumental in helping us build a vibrant and responsive Youth Hub for the Richmond Valley’s young people.”
The Youth Hub is located at 161 Walker Street Casino. A grand opening celebration will be held in the near future, featuring live music, refreshments, workshops and tours of the new facility.
