The Casino RSM Club is celebrating an historic moment for the Casino RSM Cougars, following their 26–14 victory over the Murwillumbah Mustangs in the NRRRL First Grade Grand Final on Sunday.

The win brings home the Cougars’ first premiership in 36 years, ending a drought that dates back to the 1990 Group One grand final.

As the major sponsor of the Casino RSM Cougars, the Casino RSM Club is incredibly proud to have been part of the journey that has led to this milestone.

The Club has proudly supported the Cougars for more than 60 years, making Sunday’s premiership an especially significant moment for an organisation that has stood alongside generations of Casino rugby league players, families, volunteers and supporters.

The Cougars produced a sensational start to the grand final, racing to a 22–0 lead before Murwillumbah fought its way back into the contest. Casino held firm, eventually securing a memorable 26–14 victory and etching their names into Cougars history.

The achievement marks the Cougars’ first premiership in the NRRRL era and their first top-grade title since 1990.

For the Casino RSM Club, the victory represents much more than a trophy.

Grassroots sport is at the heart of strong communities, providing opportunities for people of all ages to participate, connect and belong. The Club’s long-standing relationship with the Cougars reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting local sport and the people who make these organisations possible.

The Club has continued to support the Cougars throughout their recent growth, including supporting the club through the development of its new clubhouse at Queen Elizabeth Park.

Sunday’s grand final also showcased the incredible support behind the team, with a large contingent of Casino supporters making the trip to Murwillumbah to cheer the Cougars on. Following the final whistle, the celebrations continued as players and supporters shared in a premiership that had been 36 years in the making.
