Casino RSM Club is proud to celebrate the extraordinary success of the Casino RSM Cougars Old Boys & Sponsors Day Jersey Auction and Mental Health Awareness Fundraiser, held on Saturday evening at the Club.

What began as a special event recognising the rich history of the Cougars and raising awareness for mental health has resulted in an incredible community fundraising effort, with more than $64,000 raised through the generosity of local supporters.

The highlight of the evening was the auction of match day jerseys, which raised an outstanding $43,350, with some of the proceeds being donated back to the Casino RSM Cougars in recognition of the platform and support they provided for the event.

An additional $20,696 was raised through polo shirt sales, raffle tickets, the 100s Club and donation buckets, bringing the grand total of funds raised to $64,046.

Casino RSM Club CEO John Walker said the overwhelming response demonstrated the strength of community spirit in Casino.

“We are incredibly honoured to have hosted such a meaningful event and to see the community rally behind such an important cause. The generosity shown by everyone involved was truly inspiring and reflects the values that make our community so special.”

The event formed part of the Cougars’ annual ‘Old Boys & Sponsors Day’ celebrations, which honours former players, sponsors and supporters while creating opportunities to give back through community-focused initiatives. The RSM Cougars are a subsidiary club of the Casino RSM and have been continually sponsored by them for over 60 years.

The Club would like to congratulate the Cougars, event organisers, volunteers, sponsors, bidders and everyone who contributed to the fundraiser’s success.

The Club is also excited to continue conversations with the Cougars regarding financial support for the newly proposed ‘Your Community Project’, which is an initiative aimed at delivering ongoing fundraising events and support for local causes throughout the year.

Events like these demonstrate what can be achieved when community organisations work together for a common purpose.
